Delbert Wilhite

December 1, 1939 — May 24, 2017

Delbert Ray Wilhite, 77, of Mangum, Oklahoma passed away May 24th, 2017 at the Comanche County Hospital in Lawton, Ok. He was born on December 1, 1939 in Muleshoe, Texas to Oscar and Mamie Wilhite. He was the youngest of two children.

Delbert graduated from Reed Public Schools. He served our country for 6 years in the Army Reserves. He married Sue Adams in the early 1970's and they had two daughters.

He was the owner and operator of Wilhite Construction in Mangum where he worked diligently for 45+ years until he became too ill to work.

Delbert loved and enjoyed spending time with his daughters, family, and friends. Delbert was an active member of the Elks Lodge in Mangum for 33 years.
He enjoyed anything to do with hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.

Delbert is preceded in death by his parents and older brother Wayne Wilhite and sister-in-law, Mary Lee Wilhite.

Delbert is survived by two daughters, Kim Callins and husband Ronnie of Norman, OK and their children Jeremy, Hannah and Tamra.
Amie Callins and husband Shawn of Mangum, OK and their children Makhi and Kyson.

Delbert helped raise three step children, Pam, Cheryl and Kevin. He was known as "Pepa" to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved and adored him.

Delbert had a heart of gold, a kind and generous soul and will be deeply missed .
