Dee Kay ("D.K.") Toppah was born at home in Carnegie, OK on November 28, 1945. D.K. passed from this life on March 18, 2015, in Clinton, OK surrounded by his family. He was the youngest child of nine of Edgar Cheevers and Esther (Lonewolf) Toppah. His maternal grandparents were the late D.K. Lonewolf and Ida Hummingbird. His paternal grandparents were the late Samuel Yellowhair Toppah and Adah Doyeto. D.K. graduated from Carnegie High School in 1964. He was a team Captain of the Carnegie Wildcats football team that made it to the semi-finals in 1963. After graduating from high school, D.K. went on to attend Arkansas City Junior College for two years until joining the U.S. Army. He was with the 101st Airborne Division and upon arrival in Vietnam served in the 1st Calvary Division. He served until his honorable discharge in 1968. Upon his return back to the U.S., he returned back to Carnegie and worked various jobs. In 1978, he began working for the American Natural Resources (ANR) laying pipeline and retired in 2001. D.K. and Jeannie Parker were married on March 4, 1978, at Botone Memorial Methodist Church. They were blessed with three wonderful children, which they raised in Weatherford, OK. They were again blessed with their first grandchild, Natanii Parker Toppah, in December 2012. D.K. loved to travel, sing, and dance at tribal events as well as work on regalia for his children. He also loved bowling and bowled in many national Indian tournaments all over the country. He even bowled two perfect "300" games. He also played in Indian softball leagues. His greatest love was playing at casinos. D.K. was a member of the Kiowa Blackleggings Warrior Society, Kiowa Gourd Clan, CIVA, Star Hawks Society, S.W. Vietnam Veterans S.W. Chapter, OK Indian Nations, and a member of the Kiowa Tiah-Piah Society. He served honorably in Vietnam, being a Golden Gloves Boxer and receiving 2 Purple Heart Medals and a Bronze Star recipient.
D.K. is survived by his wife Jeannie of Weatherford,OK; daughter, Janaye Tonegyaday Toppah of Weatherford, OK; sons, Perry Cheeves Toppah of Weatherford, OK and Allen Hyde Toppah of Coweta, OK; grandson, Natanii Parker Toppah of Coweta, OK; sister, Ada Toppah of Carnegie, OK; brother, Ernest "Iron" Toppah of Carnegie, OK and numerous adopted children, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 6 siblings, Simon Toppah, Lindy Toppah, Ruth Moore, Naomi Toppah, Carol Toppah and Ila Tate.

Burial will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery, Carnegie, OK
