Deborah Phariss Celebration of Life
Deborah June Phariss, 60, of Anadarko, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at her home on April 12, 2019 after a short illness. She was born June 21, 1958 in Atlanta, Georgia to James T. Stokley and Joyce (Isaacs) Stokley. She attended high school in Anadarko, graduating with the class of 1976. June married Mark Phariss April 19, 1991 in Apache, Oklahoma, and they lived on Mark's family farm in Broxton until Mark's death in 2011. June enjoyed the solitude of living on the farm (not so much the chores she had to do when she got home from work!), but when Mark passed, she decided to move to Anadarko to be closer to work and family.
June worked for Anadarko Bank and Trust for over twenty years in many capacities even working for a time as the Carnegie branch manager. She loved her co-workers and many of them remained her closest friends. She was an artist and poet and after retirement she spent many hours journaling and sketching. Mark introduced June to the world of Nascar, and she loved keeping up with the car races and her favorite racers. Football, basketball, golf...she loved all sports, and would spend many hours following her favorite teams. If she was with the Stokleys, her favorite team was OU. If she was with the McGugans, her alliance switched to OSU...she loved ALL Oklahoma teams!
Her love of Jesus never wavered. She was saved at an early age and attended the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Apache until she moved to Anadarko, and then she became a member of the Anadarko First Baptist Church. Everyone who came in contact with June commented on her sweet spirit. She had a ready smile and a kind word for everyone.
