David L Sturgeon

David L. Sturgeon, 68, of Cordell, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on November 18th, 2018. He was born on January 19th, 1950 to Leland and Edith (Lancaster) Sturgeon in the old Cordell Hospital that was above the Florence House in Cordell, Oklahoma. David grew up in Cordell attending grade school at Lake Valley and graduated from Cordell High School in 1968. He married the love of his life Judy Stafford on August 30, 1969 at the 4th & College Church of Christ. David attended college at Oklahoma State University where he earned his Doctrine of Veterinary Medicine in 1976. He owned and operated Washita Veterinary Clinic where he practiced until two days prior to his death. David was a member of the 4th & College Church of Christ where he was an Elder and also taught classes. He was a member of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers, Oklahoma Club Calf Association, Oklahoma State University Posse, Oklahoma State University Alumni and a member of the Cordell Kiwanis Club. David loved OSU Football, he would travel to all games, home and away. For each home game, he would take a different grandchild with him. His family was very important to him, he loved being with his boys, the tradition has even carried on to the grandchildren. He loved attending all his grandchildren's events. The highlight of his life was his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

Preceded in death by his Parents: Leland & Edith Sturgeon, Brother: Aubrey Dean Sturgeon, Nephew: Stephen Ross Sturgeon, and Great Nephew: Darren Hill.
