Daphene Irene Tyler

March 8, 1925 — November 28, 2015

Daphene Irene (Adkisson) Tyler, 90, passed away on November 28, 2015 in Corn, OK. She was born March 8, 1925 to Elbert Charles and Lottie Lee (Rozzell) Adkisson in Gracemont, OK.

Later, her family moved south of Carnegie to Dirty Shame, OK. She attended school at Lone Star and Alden. She married Loyal Tyler (twice). They were married October 4, 1941 at the First Christian Church in Carnegie, OK, but after discovering the marriage license had been issued at Hobart, the minister had them drive 2 miles west of Carnegie on Highway 9 past the Caddo County line, into Kiowa County and they were "officially" married. After their marriage, they moved in with Loyal's parents Alice and Albert Harmon in Alfalfa for a year. They moved to Stockton, CA where Loyal worked in the shipyards during World War II. After the war, they both worked in the fruit fields picking throughout the San Joaquin Valley. Six children were born to Loyal and Daphene: Loyal, Jr (Smalley), Wayne Tyler, Judy Darlene, Brenda Delorse, Beverly Ann, and Ronnie Dean.

After their final return from several trips to California, they started custom harvesting where they would start in Texas and travel to Canada. Daphene cooked hundreds of meals for hired hands, drove trucks, and traveled to many parts of the country. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and also attended the Nazarene Church.

3 sons, Loyal Warren Tyler, Jr. and wife, Glenda of Carnegie, OK
Wayne John Tyler and wife, Rebecca of Phoenix, AZ
Ronnie Dean Tyler and wife, Les of Yuma, AZ
3 daughters, Judy Darlene Fuller and husband, James of Ft. Cobb, OK
Brenda Delorse Tyler Rogers of Foss Lake, OK
Beverly Ann Brewster and husband, Rick of Clinton, OK
1 brother, Abb Adkisson of Shaver Lake, CA
2 sisters-in-law, Nadine Sells and husband, Kenneth of Carnegie, OK
Linda Walker of Yukon, OK
16 grandchildren
21 great grandchildren
11 great great grandchildren
She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Loyal Tyler, a daughter-in-law, Darlene Tyler, son-in-law, Darryl Rogers, and granddaughter, Darla Kelly.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at The Church of the Nazarene, Carnegie, OK. Internment will follow at the Carnegie Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Carnegie, OK.
