On March 2, 1940, she was united in marriage to Standley Galloway of Rocky. They began their married life in Oklahoma City, OK, later returning to Rocky to farm. Standley was the love of her life to whom she remained married for 53 1/2 years until his death August 30, 1993. God blessed them with 2 daughters, Brenda and Barbara. When Brenda was 13 1/2 and Barbara was 10, they were blessed with a son, Tim.
Daphene always wanted daughters to sew pretty dresses for and curl their hair. Stan needed a son and they were always real buddies and all Tim's friends were Standley's buddies also. The family had many happy years working together and playing together. At times they didn't have a lot of money, but they always had a lot of love. Standley and Daphene loved and enjoyed their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They thanked Jesus for giving them such a wonderful family.

They always enjoyed seeing them again when they would return home to visit family.
She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church where she taught bible school classes and always helped with bible school every year. She was the Queen of the Cordell Pumpkin Festival in 1991. In 1995, she received a Plaque from the Rocky City Council in appreciation for a job well done to preserve the Rocky gymnasium, something she was very proud of. She always enjoyed the Senior Citizen Center and doing for neighbors and family. She said it took Faith, Family and Friends for her to make it through life.
