Daniel Lee York, 68, passed away on February 21st, 2021 at his home in Greenville, Ohio, where he lived with his son Joseph Lee York. He was born on January 3, 1953 to Lee Jr. and Betty (Doyeto) York in Lawton, Oklahoma. Daniel was a proud member of the Kiowa Tribe and the Mississippi Choctaw Tribe, he was proud of his heritage and a direct descendant of Chief Satanta. Daniel graduated from Hartshorne High School in Hartshorne, Oklahoma and married his high school sweetheart, Sharlotte Roy. He then attended Eastern State College. After college, Daniel relocated to Hobart, OK. They became members of the Hobart Pentecostal Church of God. Daniel worked for the City of Hobart in the water department for several years. He than began his pursuant in Pentecostal Ministries. Daniel, briefly served as pastor of the Pentecostal Church of God Indian Mission in Hobart. After spending twenty years in Hobart, Daniel relocated to Ohio. The happiest day of his life was when his first and only son, Joseph Lee was born. Daniel worked for Whirlpool in Greenville, Ohio until he retired. Daniel was a loving and caring father to Joseph Lee York. He was a huge OU Football fan, his hobbies were art, acoustic guitar, watching football and outings exploring with his son. Daniel was the second child born of twelve, he had seven sisters: Jacqualyn York of Savannah, OK, Sandra Kaye Womack of St. Louis, MO, Kathy Rudkins (Jim) of Hobart, OK, Virgie Yvonne Purifoy of Lawton, OK, Beth Nordeng (Keith) of OKC, OK, and four brothers: Morris Wesley York of OKC, OK, David Marion York (Cher) of Mountain View, OK, Terrance York (Cindy) of Mountain View, OK, and Dwight Perryman (Rene) of North Carolina.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents: Lee and Betty (Doyeto) York, sisters: Charlotte (York) Kaulaity and Mildred (York) Alisa, nieces: Emily Jane Lowery and Harlee Bigger, nephew: Sean Anthony Zotigh and brother-in-law: Larry Purifoy.
Daniel is survived by Son: Joseph Lee York, Joseph's mother: Pamela Shuman Isham, Seven Siblings, over eighty nieces and nephews, and his best friend Sharlotte Roy York.
