Dale Oliver Grose, 84, was born on March 8, 1936 to Purl Oliver Grose and Ruth Zella (Conard) Grose at home on the H.A. Grose farm six-miles northeast of Almena, Kansas. Dale went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 5, 2021 at Carnegie Tri-County Municipal Hospital in Carnegie, Oklahoma.
Early in his childhood, Dale developed a love for all kinds of sports and was especially good at baseball. This love of sports carried over to his adulthood, where he played on a men's basketball team and a very competitive men's softball team. He loved challenging his grandkids, whether is be tennis, golf, fishing, hunting, lawn darts, or bocce ball. He also enjoyed playing golf with his brothers.
Dale married Lois Ilona Dixon on September 2, 1956. To this union of sixty-four years, four blessings were born: Melody, Gail, Clay, and Cindy. The family moved around to many different locations as Dale took different job opportunities in order to provide for his family.
Dale and Lois retired in 2002 and moved to Fort Cobb Lake where they could enjoy their love of fishing and host numerous family gatherings. All of the kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and even great-great-grandkids loved going to their place to play games and fish.
Dale is survived by his wife, Lois of the home; one son, Clay Grose of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma; three daughters, Melody McSchooler of Riverton, Wyoming, Gail Platte and her husband, Kenny of Aspermont, Texas, Cindy Shuck and James Kadlec of Belvidere, Illinois; one brother, David Grose and his wife, Nancy of San Diego, California; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Dale is preceded in death by son-in-law, Gerald McSchooler; younger brother, Richard Grose; grandsons, Karl Platte and Kevin Platte.
Memorial services will be at 11:30am on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Parkview Christian Church in Chickasha Oklahoma.
