Dafne May Sloan

Dafne May (Briggs) Sloan, 99, passed away at home on October 30, 2011.
Dafne was born May 27, 1912 in Byers, Texas to Effie Ula and Orman E. Briggs. She was the second of seven children in the family.
The family lived in Byers until 1924 when they relocated to land south of Mountain View, OK to continue farming and ranching.
Dafne married Ed Sloan on July 11, 1932 in Hobart, OK. Dafne was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mountain View for almost 59 years. Health issues caused her to relocate closer to family in Weatherford, TX. She has been attending Trinity Baptist Church for the last 6 1/2 years.
Dafne was preceded in death by her husband, Ed; parents; and sisters, Inez Zimmerman, Della Madden; brothers, Otis, Tony and Gordon Briggs.
Survivors include her daughter, Leona Jean Jones and husband Curtis of Weatherford, TX;
1 sister, Donna Mae Stover and husband Lawrence of Mineola, TX
2 grandchildren, Clinton Earl Jones and wife Angela of Austin, TX,
Mindi Daphna Rose and husband Barry, Godley, TX
4 great grandchildren, Berkley Jones, Chloe Jones, Cade Jones all of Austin, TX and Briggs Rose of Godley, TX.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011
First Baptist Church of Mountain View, OK.
Interment: Mountain View Cemetery.
