Curtis Ray Horse (Tanepeahby) 79, of Midwest City, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, February 12th, 2012 at Midwest Regional Medical Center. He was born January 22nd, 1933 to James Myers and Mae (Whitehorse) Horse in Carnegie, OK. After the passing of his mother, he was raised by his aunt Lucy Whitehorse Beaver. He attended Samone Riverside and briefly Haskell Institute before enlisting in the United States Marine Corp. After his service of duty he was married to Penelope " Penny" Komality on April 7, 1960. He then attended Okmulgee Tech in Okmulgee Oklahoma perfecting his trade as a diesel mechanic. Curtis hired in at Tinker Air Force Base and began his career as a jet engine mechanic specializing in the logistics of F-14 Tomcats. He was a full blood enrolled member of the Kiowa Tribe. Curtis was Vice President of the Kiowa Gourd Clan from 1990-2003. He was a member of the O-ho-mah lodge as well as a member of the Kiowa Black Leggings Society. Curtis was a member of the Methodist church.
