Curtis Alan Combs was born on April 28, 1963, to Alvin and Mary Linda Combs in Sentinel, Oklahoma. On Sunday, November 10th, 2024, Curtis passed away unexpectedly near the town of Moorcroft, Wyoming. Growing up, Curtis was heavily involved in working on the family farm. He played baseball and basketball during his years through school when he was not feeding pigs or on the tractor.
Curtis developed a passion for agriculture and the relationships it cultivated, which eventually led him to becoming FFA President for Sentinel High School and graduating in 1985 from Cameron University with a double major in Animal Science and Agriculture Education. He married JoAnn Perring in 1985 and had two children together, Copan and Calan, in 1988.
Curtis landed his first job after college as the Ag Ed instructor of Lone Wolf Public Schools before becoming a Loan Officer in the banking industry. In Curtis' early life in the late 80's and early 90's, he worked on the family farm and operated a swine reproduction business named Southern Semen. Curtis worked many jobs throughout the rest of his life with a work ethic that was undeniably commendable. The man never shied away from hard work, taking pride in "the process" more than the outcome. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sentinel. Curtis loved people and the joys that life brought, always surrounding himself with friends and family.
He was married to Candice Combs-Ellis for 30 years of his life. Curtis was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Combs, his brother, Cody Combs, his grandparents, Alva & Midge Combs, and Tom & Hortense Monson. Curtis is survived by his sons, Copan Combs of Stillwater, OK, and Calan Combs of Oklahoma City, OK, his mother, Mary Linda Combs of Sentinel, OK, and a host of many other family & friends.
