Connie Ann Kinder, 59, of Anadarko, was born October 5, 1955, to Oliver James and Stella Marie (Franklin) Atwood in Fort Worth, Texas. She passed from this life on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, in Oklahoma City after a brief illness.
Connie was raised and attended school in Fort Worth. Soon after finishing school, she met Mike Kinder. They were married at Edgepark Methodist Chuech in Fort Worthon April 19, 1974. Connie worked for Leonard's Department Store, Bean, Bag and Box and later did alterations at Al's Formalwear. In the spring of 1986, she and Mike moved to Anadarko. Connie was a cook for Cliff Wall at the Southern Plains Restaurant. Later, she was self-employed as a caregiver and house keeper.
Connie liked fishing and riding personal watercraft and loved growing flowers in her garden.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Dianne Roberts and Melody Atwood.
Survivors include her husband, Mike of the home; one son, Rodney; four sisters, Gloria Scott, Stella L. Atwood, Janie Markum and Sherry Redfield; one brother, Jimmy Atwood and his wife, Beverly, all of Fort Worth; four grandchildren, Nataley, Ashley, Chance and Aiden, all of Tyler, Texas; mother-in-law, Maxine Kinder of Eustace, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Lois McMillan and her husband, Steve of Nevada, Missouri and Karen McKinney and her husband, Richard of Elkhart, Texas; one brother-in-law, Jim Kinder and his wife, Jennifer of Coppell, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be today, March 10, 2015, until 8:30 P.M. with the family receiving visitors from 5:30 P.M. to 7 P.M.
The funeral is scheduled for 2 P.M., Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at the Virginia Avenue Baptist Church with Pastor Donnie Edmondson officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at
