Connie Ard

Connie Kay Ard, 77, of Hobart, Oklahoma entered into her eternal rest with her heavenly Father on August 6th, 2024 at her home.

She was born on June 27th, 1947 to Tommy Ray and Vera Claudine (Dodson) Buchanan in Bell Gardens, California. Connie grew up and attended Mangum and Hobart schools. She married James E. "Bubba" Ard on October 29th, 1963 and to this union three children were born: Jim Drake, Timothy Lane and Joely Kay.

From an early age, Connie had a strong and secure faith in Jesus Christ and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior. Connie worked several jobs during her young adult years. It wasn't until her late thirties that she had found her passion in healthcare when she worked as a surgery scrub tech at Elkview General Hospital. This passion spurred the desire for her to go back to school to become an RN, which she completed at Western Oklahoma State College in Altus at the age of 42. She eventually became OR supervisor, and providing great care to all her patients was her top priority. However, her greatest joy, love and accomplishment in life was being a mother and a Maw to her children and grandchildren.

Connie had a love for all animals and God's creation. She spent many years of her life rescuing and feeding any animal in need.

Survivors include two sons: Jim Drake Ard and wife Sharon of Weatherford, OK, and Timothy Lane Ard of Hobart, OK; one daughter: Joely Kay Duff and husband Todd of Hobart, OK; six grandchildren: Spencer Ard and wife Sinclair, Hagan Ard, Conner Jewell, Jacy Duff, Kane Duff, and Rett Duff.

Connie is preceded in death by her parents Tommy Buchanan and Claudine Richardson.
