Coetta L Garner

Coetta Marie Garner 76 passed away on November 28, 2017 in her home in Hobart Oklahoma. Born on August 29, 1941 to William and Leatha Mae (Steele) Lee. Coetta moved to Virginia were she met and married Charlie Garner Jr. They were married on November 23, 1966. Coetta was employed and retired from Fairfax County School Board System. She was also employed by Fairfax County Recreation Department. Where she taught ceramic classes at Bailey's Community Center and James Lee Community Center. She returned to her home town Hobart Oklahoma in 2006. Coetta believed in and loved family.


She is survived by her husband Charlie Garner Jr. Her children: Anita Barnes, Aleatha Whitehead, Charlie Garner III, Don Norris (nephew) Aldo Ray Bonds (nephew). Her siblings: Arlene Lee, Willetta Lee Smith, Ruby Johnson, Tommy Deshasier, Sammy Lee, Terry Sharp. Her grandchildren: Liisa Barnes, Calvin Barnes, Rasheka Barnes, Nari Garner, Niya Garner and Charlie Garner IV. Her great-grand children: Ajea Tysor, Raven Butler, Ty Harris, Danea Barnes, Daja Barnes, Destiney Barnes, Dallas Barnes, Danika Barnes, Dawson Barnes Calvin Barnes. Great-great-grand children: Niyla, Kori and Amar.
As well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Alene Bonds (sister) and Glenda Faye Frye (daughter).
