Cleo Porter

Cleo Clara Porter, 100, passed away on Wednesday, May 18th, 2016 at The Hobart Nursing and Rehab in Hobart, Oklahoma. She was born January 29, 1916 to Fred and Dovie (Rucker) Collmer near Roosevelt, Oklahoma. She spent most of her life in Hobart where she raised her three children. Cleo was a charter member of the Washington Street Baptist Church. She worked as a cook in the cafeteria for the Hobart Public Schools where she later on retired.

She is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Dovie (Rucker) Collmer, five brothers, five sisters, and a great-grandson Teague Porter.

Cleo is survived by her two sons Carroll Porter and wife Betty of Hobart, Oklahoma; Leon Porter and wife Helen of Oro Valley, Arizona; daughter Dovie Cooper and husband Darrell of Sulphur, Oklahoma; seven grand-sons, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Cleo Porter will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Ray & Martha's Chapel, Hobart, Oklahoma. Interment to follow at Hobart Rose Cemetery, Hobart, Oklahoma, under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kiowa County Historical Museum.
