Obie Lindsay, 84, of Hobart and Gotebo, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in Hobart.
He was born September 3, 1929 in Gotebo, OK to Sylvester Bert and Nora May (Gold) Lindsey.
He was the 12th child of 13 children. Obie graduated from Panhandle State and received his
Master's Degree from Southwestern State in Weatherford. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gotebo. Obie was a 32 Degree Mason. He taught school and coached basketball at Davidson, Mountain Park, Chattanooga, Geary and Terrell. After retirement, he farmed.

Survivors include one brother, Marvin Lindsey and wife Loretta, Porter, OK
one sister, Bertie Jean L. Barkley, Midwest City, OK
many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Carl, Harrell, George and Daniel and six sisters, Jaunita Mayes, Erie Jewel Lindsey, Mary Gibbs, Dorothy Martin, Dora (Bobbye) Blanton and Neoma Sexton.

Graveside services are 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 27, 2013 in the Hobart Rose Cemetery.
