Clarence Albert Dutton, 77, of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017. He was born July 15, 1939 to Johnnie A. and Elena Blevins Dutton in Carnegie, Oklahoma.
Clarence attended school in Carnegie, Oklahoma. As a young boy he helped support his family as a mechanic and farm laborer. In 1967 Clarence joined the United States Army. He was trained as a medic and stationed in Germany. In 1969 Clarence returned to Carnegie and began a life long career as a mechanic. He loved racing and fast cars. He raced at Anadarko with a 1937 Chevy Coupe. During his racing career he raced at Lawton Speedway and the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds. In 1986 he joined his nephew, Terry Courtney, and David Farmer in building and operating Dutton's Speedway at Fort Cobb Lake. He was an avid race fan and supporter of many in his passion for fast cars. Clarence farmed during those years and retired from farming and the speedway in 2011. His helpful nature wll live on with many in the Fort Cobb and Carnegie area.
Clarence is survived by one sister, Betty Eeds of Apache, Oklahoma.
Three nephews: Terry Courtney & wife Colleen of Carnegie, Oklahoma Gary Eeds of Apache, Oklahoma, Robbie Eeds of Wichita Falls, Texas Great nephew: Brady Courtney & wife Danielle of Carnegie, Oklahoma Great Great nephew: Kasey Courtney of Carnegie, Oklahoma.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings: Mildred Courtney, Eugene Dutton, Billy Dutton, Joy Dutton, Carolyn Dutton, and Augusta Huffman and a Great Nephew, Casey Courtney.
