Christina Simmons

Christina Simmons, 95, Kiowa Tribe of Oklahoma, Carnegie, OK passed away, November 16th, 2014, at Carnegie, OK. She was born July 4, 1919, near Mountain View, OK to Ernest and Ruth (Toyebo) Hunt. She grew up in the Mountain View area and graduated from Mountain View High School. Christina went on to Bacon College where she obtained her degree and then went on to do her Registered Nurse residency at O.U. Medical Center ( then University Hospital). She married Paul Simmons in Las Vegas, NM. She and Paul lived and worked in Pine Top, AZ before moving back to Mountain View upon retirement. Christina was an active member of the Rainy Mountain Kiowa Indian Baptist Church, Mountain View, OK.

Son John Simmons and wife, Phyllis, Carnegie, OK
Granddaughter: Toni Lee Simmons Haksobishfala, Oklahoma City, OK
two great-granddaughters, Jaylee Anne and Lilly Sue
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul, 2 sisters, Carolyn Lujan and Julia Geogimah.

Service: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Rainy Mountain Kiowa Indian Baptist Church, Mountain View, OK with burial to follow in the Carnegie Cemetery under the direction of
