Chestley Junior Mooney, 82, passed away August 26, 2021, in OKC, OK. He was born September 14, 1938, in Duncan, Ok to Rudy Chesley Mooney and Ruby Jewell (Ross) Mooney.
Ches graduated from Duncan High School in 1956. He joined the U. S. Navy in October of 1956 and served 4 years. Ches returned Duncan and married Judith Marie Phares on August 26, 1961. He started to work with Safeway in Anadarko, OK in March of 1961, as a meat cutter and was with Safeway/Homeland until he retired in 1997.
Ches and Judy went to Guam with Safeway from 1990 - 1992. What an adventure it was. Ches setup the meat operations for Safeway in Guam and Judy worked as the Advertising Manager for Safeway. After returning from Guam, they purchased Ron's Burger House in Anadarko, Ok in 1994. He retired again in 1997, and decided to pick up a few lawns to mow, "Just to keep busy."
Ches joined the Oklahoma Men's Baptist Relief team which was a real blessing to his heart and a wonderful way to serve his Lord and Savior. He served from the 2000 to present.
