Charles "Chuck" Turner, 78, of Hobart, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 7, 2011. He was born June 29, 1932 in McRoberts, Kentucky to William Charles and Carmen (Carter) Turner. He graduated high school in Whitesburg, KY and spent many years in Memphis, TN. Chuck married Ann Newer on November 23, 1966 in Springfield, IL. He served with the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Charles moved to Hobart in March 1991 and he was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. He was very instrumental in what the Hobart Food Pantry is today. Charles started getting the surrounding towns and communities involved. He is President Emeritus of Searchlight in Hobart.
