Charles Ronald Smith

Charles "Ronnnie" Smith, 72, passed away on March 31, 2014, after a lengthy illness in Cordell, OK. He was born on August 19, 1941, to Charles Robert and Georgia ( Mathis) Smith in Hobart, OK. Ronnie was raised on a farm in Con-8. He graduated Hobart High School in 1958. Ronnie married Darla Stockton on Dec. 26, 1958. They had two sons, Randy and Roger Smith, and two grandsons, Clay and Roger Jr. Smith. Ronnie later married Shirley King McFarland and help raise her four children. He lived in Kiowa County and Washita County most of his life, living in Cordell the past 45 years. Ronnie was a auto mechanic in Cordell for many years. He loved to fish. Ronnie was a member of the 4th & College Church of Christ.

He is survived by two sons: Randy Smith, Hobart, OK
Roger Smith, Hobart, OK
two grandsons: Clay Smith, Standish, MI
Roger Smith, Jr. and partner Cambria, Hobart, OK
one great-grandson: Riley James Smith, Hobart, OK
numerous nieces and nephews
loving partner: Hazel Elliott, Cordell, OK
one brother: Michael George Smith, Hobart, OK
one sister: Rita Gayle Walker, Shawnee, OK


He is preceded in death by parents, wife Shirley, two grandchildren Charles Ray & R.J. Smith, older brother Robert Duane Smith.

Interment will be at a later date, under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart.
