Cecil Arrington of Weatherford, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, March 30, 2013, at the VA Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 80.
Cecil was born October 28, 1932 in Gracemont, Oklahoma to Vernon and Juanita (Hancock) Arrington. He was raised and attended school in Butler, Oklahoma and graduated in 1951. He served his country in the Navy from 1952 thru 1956. In 1959 he married Sandra Taylor and made their home in Sunray, Texas. From this union they had two sons. Cecil worked as a watch repairman early in his career and farmed in Sunray until 1978 when he moved his family to Oklahoma to manage the Chickasha Cotton Oil Co. until it was closed. He then began his career as a cross country truck driver which he retired from in 2012. In 2000 he married Barbara Hatchell and they made their home in Weatherford, OK.
Cecil is survived by his sons, Richard Arrington from Sunray, Texas, Scot Arrington and his wife Sheila, from Gracemont, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Dallas, Logan and Emma Arrington from Gracemont.
He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon and Juanita Arrington and wife Barbara Arrington.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church in Anadarko with Pastor Glenn Alley officiating. Gathering of family and friends will follow services in fellowship hall.
