Carrol "Toby" Emerson King's Obituary


Carrol "Toby" Emerson King passed away on August 2, 2016.
He was born in Alfalfa, OK to Ralph Waldo Emerson King and Opal Reid King on July 26, 1924. Toby attended Alfalfa schools and married Lo Leta Jones on June 10, 1945. He lived most of his life in Carnegie, OK and his career accomplishments included manager of Summer's Concrete Ready-Mix, owner/operator of King's Texaco, King's Car Wash and Kings Quick Stop. He served his hometown of Carnegie as City Councilman, Fire Chief, President of Carnegie Chamber of Commerce, President of Carnegie Kiwanis Club, and Grand Noble of the Alfalfa Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Toby was also a member of Alfalfa United Methodist Church and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed watching Carnegie High School sports, hunting, fishing and spending time with family.

Toby is survived by his wife, Lo Leta of the home;
two sons: Donald King, Granite, OK; Kyle King and wife Debby, Farmer's Branch, Texas
three daughters: Carleta Davis and husband Kynn, Buckeye, AZ; Tanya Tappehorn, Bartlesville, OK;
Luanne Gonzalez and Kenneth Gonzalez of Carnegie, Oklahoma.
Grandchildren Cloresa King, Duane King, David King, Alicha King, Rodger King, William Davis, Kimberly Bryan, Misty Davis, Caitlyn Tappehorn, Jennifer Daniels, Jordan Greer, Andrew Gonzalez, Anthony Gonzalez Oklahoma City, OK
many great grandchildren.
Sister Leota Flaming and husband Emory, Oklahoma City, OK; brother Edward King, Plain View, TX; and sister Barbara Lee, Blanchard, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alfred King and sister Evelyn Geer.
Services for "Toby" will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Alfalfa, Oklahoma.
Family visitation will be Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Ray & Martha's Chapel in Carnegie, Oklahoma.
Interment will be at the Carnegie Cemetery, Carnegie, Oklahoma.
