Carolyn Marney

October 9, 1938 — July 26, 2021

Carolyn (Hokett) Marney
October 9, 1938-July 26, 2021
Carolyn was born to Lester Hokett and Carrie Zills Hokett in Hobart, OK. She was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife, friend and so much more to so many of us.
She was fun loving and witty and enjoyed playing practical jokes on those she loved. She was fiercely protective of her 3 girls and there was no question she always had their backs. She had to have a "talk" with a few teachers when she perceived mistreatment of her girls when they were in school. She enjoyed flirting and dancing and she had an infectious laugh that drew people to her. She worked hard all her life and she was stronger than a lot of men. She took pride in being able to throw hay bales when she was younger. Even as a senior citizen she was strong and continued to work hard. One day when she was getting new flooring she rolled up her old rug, hoisted it onto her shoulders and hauled it out to the street for pickup. She would catch water in rain barrels and haul it around her yard in gallon buckets to water her flowers. She loved flowers, she was a florist and could make the most beautiful arrangements. For years she has made sprays to adorn the graves of her loved ones twice a year for Memorial Day and Christmas. She loved growing flowers too and she was a master gardener. She was pleased when she won Yard of the Month.
Carolyn was flashy. She liked to dress up and her entire outfit had to match right down to her shoes, handbag, jewelry and nail polish. She was fancy! She enjoyed the attention she received when people would notice her. She was fun and entertaining and she was always right, ALWAYS! She could smile and tell each of us we were her favorite and my sisters believed her but it was me. We loved her and she loved us back and we are going to miss her! We miss her already.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Hokett and Carrie Zills Hokett, brothers Lester Hokett, Jr and Donald Wayne Hokett, her husband Doyle Marney, her son-in-law David Stockton and Grandson-in-law Christopher Rudman.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Warren and husband Rick, Debbie Babione and husband Bruce and Tammy Robinson and husband Turk. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Holli Logsdon and Zac and their children Mabry and Carlee Moore and Zye and Tace Logsdon, Lindsay Pickle and Preston and their children Chloe' and Calleigh Pickle, Matthew Babione and his son Matthew Babione. Kaylee Lee and Tyler Smith and their children, Bryan Lee, Bradlee Rudman, Maddie and Brylee Smith, Shannon Martin and Zach and their children Remi and Ridlee Jennings, Turner Martin and baby #4, Jamie Robinson and daughter Elaina Monroe, Heather Warren, Sean Warren and wife Raychel and their children Hayden, Reece and Lucas. She is also survived by her siblings, Danny Hokett and wife Carolyn, Barbara Winkler Doyle and her fiance' Tom, Joann Hamilton and husband Bobby, Phillip Hokett and wife Louella and life- long close friend Phillip Stephenson and his wife Nancy. She has numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that were precious to her and added richness to her life. Lastly, she loved and was devoted to her dogs Squeaky and April.
God Speed, Mom, we love you forever!
