Carol Jean Hunter Ware was born March 2, 1941 in Lawton, Oklahoma at the Kiowa Indian Hospital to Richard Hunter and Iva Taylor. She entered the Eternal Gates of Heaven on March 5, 2023. She is a citizen of the Kiowa Tribe, and proud of her Delaware and Caddo decent and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She attended Saint Patrick's Catholic School and Anadarko Public School.
Carol married Lehman Keith "Squirrel" Ware on January 5, 1976. She was a prominent homemaker and gardener all her life. She enjoyed attending family get togethers, and traveling with her husband to numerous pow-wows and archery tournaments throughout various states. She was the oldest of 12 siblings and was proud to help raise and take care of them. She was known as their sister momma.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Lehman, parents, 3 brothers Richard "Dickie" Hunter, Dennis Hunter, Leon "Porky" Hunter, and 1 sister Teresa Hunter. One granddaughter Tasha Jean Ware and two grandsons Gerald Killsfirst and Benjamin Arguello; Two great-grandsons Caeden Neil Tartsah and Kendon Pahn-mye Cozad. Her cousin/sister LoDema "Okie" Hunter. Carol was also preceded in death by her two son-in-laws, Brian Parton and Rick Sebert.
She is survived by her children: Sharon Sebert of Edmond, OK; Vincent McCarthy and wife Elaine of San Marcos, CA; Shawn "Choc" Ware and wife Claire of Ft. Washakie, Wyoming; Lyndrith "Hooter" Ware and wife Valerie of Ethete, Wyoming; Jacqueline "Bobo" Ware of Anadarko; Denise "Judge" Horse and husband Gary of Anadarko; Monique "Q-ball" Ware and companion Juan Perez of Lawton, OK; Lance "Chan" Ware of Anadarko, OK; LaDonna "Tuffy" Parton of Anadarko, OK; Derith "Punky" Secondine and husband John of Anadarko, OK; Lehman Ware Jr "Junior" and wife Jenna of Albuquerque, NM. Three sisters Judith Hunter-Ware and companion Terry Ware of Anadarko, Karla Forbes of Semmes, Alabama; and Gayla Ahtone, of Ardmore, OK; Four brothers Jackie Hunter of Oklahoma City, Mikey Hunter and wife Carolyn of Edmond, OK; Terry Hunter and wife Sharon of Anadarko, OK; and Robert Alexander of Burns Flat, OK. One aunt Mattie Botone of Anadarko, OK. As for grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren she leaves behind 26 grandsons, 19 granddaughters, 34 great-grandsons, 20 great granddaughters, 2 great great granddaughters, and 2 more great great grandchildren on the way. Carol loved her nieces who were like daughters Clarissa "Binky, Knight, LaTisha "Birdie" Knight, and Sunny Black. She was also blessed with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
