Carol Jean Coltz, 77, was born on October 31, 1943 to Joe Otis Coltz and Colleen (Highwalker) Smith in Lawton, Oklahoma. Carol passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Mercy Health Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Carol was born and raised around the Anadarko area. She helped raise her youngest sisters, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. She enjoyed being around her family and spending time with family and friends. She loved to cook and was amazing at making frybread. Carol's favorite singer was Patsy Cline, and she could be heard singing along any time one of her songs was playing on the radio.
Carol married Tony Looney in April 2005 at Tishomingo, Oklahoma. They enjoyed many happy years together before his passing in 2019.
Carol worked several different jobs during her lifetime, but mostly enjoyed working with the residents at McCall's Chapel School in Ada, Oklahoma. She loved helping and caring for others. Carol was a member of the Kiowa War Mothers, Black Leggings Society, and Sand Creek Descendants Society.

Eight sisters: Francine Peach, Tulsa, OK; Thelma Tartsah, Anadarko, OK; Pam Young, Norman, OK; Audrey Connell, Elmore City, OK; Nadine Spencer, Tulsa, OK; Martha Brown of Aberdeen, MI;, Donna Smith, Anadarko, OK; Deann Smith, Ada, OK

Carol is preceded in death by her: husband, Tony Looney; mother, Colleen Highwalker-Shortneck-Neconie; father, Joe Otis Coltz; step-father, Aaron Smith; brother, Larry Joe Coltz; sisters, Sandra Hall, Loretta Smith, Phoebe Redbird, Maggie Rocha.
