OBITUARY
CARLETTA MARIE MILLER, 62, was born January 29, 1950, in Anadarko,, Oklahoma, to Charles H. and Ellen Marie (Dunn) Phelps. She passed from this life on Saturday, June 2. 2012, at her home southeast of Anadarko.
A lifetime resident of Caddo County, Carletta graduated from Anadarko High School with the Class of 1968. She received her Women's Ministries Certification from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. On November 17, 1967, Carletta and Lennis D. Miller were married at Bethel Baptist Church in Anadartko.
Carletta served 27 years as secretary at Bethel Baptist Church, retiring 7 years ago. She was an avid flower gardener, and enjoyed taking care of the ornamental fish pond in her front yard. She loved scrapbooking, making greeting cards, fishing, and cooking for her family. She spent her life serving the Lord. She was a long-time member of Bethel Baptist Church, and was a member of the Oklahoma Baptist Secretaries Association, and a member of the ALS Support Group through Southwest Integris Hospital.
Carletta was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Christey Miller. Survivors include her husband Lennis Miller, of the home; one son Dwaine Miller and wife Rita, and 2 grandchildren, Kyle and Dylan Miller, all of Anadarko; one brother, Charles H. Phelps and wife Trenda of Chickasha; one sister, Karen Luttrell and husband Jerry of Anadarko; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many loving friends, especially her best friend, Carolyn Farmer of Anadarko.
A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 5,at 1:30P.M., at Memory Lane Cemetery, with her Pastor, Glenn Alley, officiating. Viewing at Steverson Funeral Home will be until 9 pm Monday evening, and from 9 am until noon Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations to Bethel Baptist Church or to ALS Research, % MDA, 5521 S. Western, Suite 5010, Oklahoma City, OK, 73109.
