Calvin "Doc" Pittman, 86, passed away on February 19, 2024, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born on May 16, 1937, to Jim and Mamie (Settle) Pittman, in Gracemont, OK.
Doc grew up and attended schools in the Carnegie area until he was 16. He later met Juanee Jones and married her on December 28, 1957, in Wheeler, TX. Doc and Juanee owned and operated Pittman Dozer Service for 55 years and have owned and operated Carnegie Cleaners since 1974.
In Doc's early years, you could find him in the garage working on all types of machines and cars for others. He loved working with his hands and taught his sons how to do the same while they lived at home. He was also an avid quail hunter, raising many championship bird dogs alongside his son, Rick. Doc loved his cattle, always at an auction either selling his own cows or buying more. Anytime his granddaughter was in town, he loved taking her to the farm, and having her help him feed his cows. Most of all, Doc Pittman's favorite pastime was going to the casino with Juanee. He would tell you these were the best days. They had many memories and stories of going and playing the machines together. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Doc is survived by his two sons Gary Pittman of Houston, TX and Rick and Carol Pittman of Austin, TX; grandchildren Seth and Elizabeth Pittman of Bedford, TX and Amanda Pittman and fianc, Colton Turner of Dallas, TX; sister Ruby Rogers of Yukon, OK; sister in laws Laquita Littlebird of Weatherford, OK, Evaughn Sanders of Burleson, TX and Sue Jones of Wakita, OK.
