Burl Roddy, 70, long-time Mountain View and Hobart resident passed away on February 8, 2011 in Oklahoma City, OK. He was born September 9, 1940 in Mountain View, OK to Jack and Dolly (Fulton) Roddy. Burl graduated from Mountain View High School and served with the U. S. Army for two years. He worked at Duty Packers and then moved to Oklahoma City. In 1973, he worked for the Highway Department and then transferred to the Department of Corrections, retiring May, 2002. Burl married Lela M. Newsom on August 21, 1965 in Mountain View and she preceded him in death on June 8, 2001.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.

five grandchildren: Michael, Justin, Sarah, Joshua and Carlee
his lady friend, Carol Stapleton, Del City, OK
two sisters: Dora LaFrenierre, Visalia, CA
Pauline Bales and husband Elvern, Independence, KS
brother-in-law, Lavern Lum, Kiowa, OK
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and ten brothers and sisters.
