Burl Jean Devaughan

September 16, 1929 — April 11, 2020

Burl Jean DeVaughan, 90, died on April 11, 2020 at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born on Sept. 16th, 1929 in Binger, OK. Her parents were Lee and Grace Vinyard. She grew up and attended school in Binger, OK where she met Beryl DeVaughan. They were married on August 22, 1946. They moved with their four children from Cordell, OK to Anadarko Ok in 1959 where they purchased what became DeVaughan Drug Store in Anadarko, OK. Burl Jean worked at the store until 1981. She and Beryl divorced in 1981 and she moved to Yukon, OK. She became employed at Dillard's in OKC, OK where she had a successful career selling cosmetics. While living in Anadarko, OK she was active in the First Baptist Church and a member of the Anadarko Flower club. She was known to have beautiful roses in her own garden. She played golf, tennis and was a "serious" bridge player. Until recently, she played with a bridge group in Chickasha. She also enjoyed spending time with her longtime companion, Don Mileur.
She was quite an extrovert and become friends with people of all ages and loved to have fun. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceded in death by her parents; son, Quinton DeVaughan Jr. and 2 great grandchildren.
