Brett Garland Crowell, of Edmond, OK, was born on January 20,1979, Chickasha, OK, 12 minutes after his identical twin brother Brad. He passed from this life on February 18,2024 in the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK, after a brief illness at the age of 45. Brett was born to Cathy and Kem Crowell and grew up in the Oney community not far from both sets of grandparents, Verna Lee and Garland Griffin and Iris and Emlis Crowell.
Brett attended Oney School in kindergarten and then transferred to Fort Cobb school when his mother went there to teach. Both Brett and Brad enjoyed being identical twins and confusing teachers and friends. Their bond was special and continued throughout their lives. Brett graduated from Fort Cobb-Broxton in 1998. During his high school years, Brett worked at the Wa-Whoo convenience store in Fort Cobb, OK. In all his early years Brett attended the First Baptist Church in Fort Cobb, OK where he and Brad both accepted Jesus as their savior and were baptized at the same time. In the fall of 1998, Brett enrolled at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford where he graduated with honors in 2003, with a degree in Marketing. Brett was working for Farmers Insurance Company in Oklahoma City, OK in the Claims Department at the time of his death where he had been for over 20 years.
In 2002, Brett married Lavina Whaley in Fort Cobb, OK. They were blessed with Lexie in 2006 and Lily in 2010. Brett loved these girls with all his heart and considered them his greatest accomplishment in life. Brett and Lavina lived in Oklahoma City, Mustang, Blanchard, Anadarko and then Edmond during their married lives. Brett was a kind-hearted soul who enjoyed laughing, traveling with his family, nice cars, trivia games, family holiday gatherings and OSU basketball games.

Brett was also truly loved by many other relatives and friends he made over the years.
