Paul Barton, 88, passed away on Sunday, October 24th, 2010, at his home in Hobart. He was born
August 8, 1922 in Hobart to William Brack and Tressie (Andrews) Barton. He lived in the Hobart community his entire life and graduated from Hobart High School with the class of 1940. Paul entered
the U. S. Army on December 5, 1942 and served his country for three years, two of which were in the European theater of operations. He received four Bronze Service Stars, EAME Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Ribbon and a Good Conduct Medal. He was a Staff Sergeant with the 693rd Field Artillery Battalion and a member of the Hobart American Legion.
Paul married Wanda Allred March 17, 1947 at Hobart First United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. He was employed by the Department of Agriculture for 34 years, as well as being a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda of the home
daughter, Linda Barton, Springboro, Ohio
son, Jon Barton and wife Jackie, Kingwood, TX
three grandsons, three great-grandsons;
two granddaughters and 1 great-grand daughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
