AL BILYEU
Boyce Alton "Al" Bilyeu was born Feb. 7, 1947 to Mart and Bonny Bilyeu in Anadarko. He passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 at the age of 69.
He married the former Joan Adams of Gracemont on April 16, 1964. To this union, two children were born - Rodney and Tawnya.
Al worked in construction and became a construction superintendent. He built many structures, including a high school in Davis, an Alzheimer's hospital in Ardmore and built many things for the Noble Foundation in Ardmore. Al also restored the Cabildo in New Orleans, where the Louisiana Purchase, which included Oklahoma, was signed in 1803. After his retirement, Bilyeu remained in Ardmore. He loved his family, especially his mom, who he stayed in constant contact with and visited every few months.
Bilyeu was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Dennis and Mike, and his sister, Jan Bean.
Survivors include his mom, Bonny Bilyeu of Anadarko; son: Rodney Bilyeu his wife Jesse Bilyeu of Fort Worth, Texas; his daughter, Tawnya of San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren, Tiffany Wait, Chase Bilyeu, Elizabeth Thompson, Cole Bilyeu and Jazmyn Bilyeu; great-grandchildren Emili, Eva, Charley and Jordan; two sisters, Verlinda Bilyeu and Nita Williams; two stepbrothers, Roy Goucher and Kenneth Goucher; a brother-in-law, Kevin Bean; two sisters-in-law Carolen Bilyeu and Darlene Bilyeu; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, lots of friends, including best friend Jay Trout; many cousins, including special cousin Kathy Shelby.
Services will be held at noon Thursday, June 16, at Bethel Baptist Church. The family luncheon will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bethel Life Center.
Services are under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Anadarko.
