Bonnie Mae Horn

March 28, 1923 — November 7, 2016

Bonnie Mae Horn was born March 28, 1923, to Paul and Rhea (Rogers) Bookout at Achille, Oklahoma. In 1933 Bonnie lost both of her parents, she with two brothers and two sisters went to live at the Children's Home in Tipton, Oklahoma. While Bonnie was living in Tipton she attended a revival meeting and accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior and was baptized. In 1941 Bonnie went to live with the Hueberts of Corn. It was while living in Corn and working in a cotton field that she met the love of her life. Bonnie and Henry Preacher Horn were married on July 21,1943, at the Herold Mennonite Church. Bonnie always had bread or cinnamon rolls baking and was very generous with family and friends who came to visit. They never left hungry or empty handed. She always had a welcoming smile and a kind word for everyone. Bonnie will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include: Son Charles and wife Paula Horn; Daughters: Joyce Darnell; Phyllis and husband David Wiersig; Grandchildren: Christie and husband David Parks; Kevin Horn; Chad and wife Nicole Horn; Julie Szekerczes and Mike Szekerczes ; Dean and wife Amanda Darnell; Josh and wife Brook Wiersig; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a host of dear family and friends.

Preceded in death by parents, husband Henry Preacher Horn in 1992, two brothers and two sisters and son in law Raymond Darnell.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Tipton Childrens Home or Gideons.
