Bonita Rhodes

Bonita Mae Rhodes, 74, Carnegie, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in the home of her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Kay Horn of Mt. Pleasant, TX on Sunday, April 22, 2012. Bonita was born on December 30, 1937 in Carnegie Oklahoma to H. R. and Lorene(Young) Horn. She was active in sports and beauty pageants. Bonita was saved as a young lady at the First Baptist Church and with her late husband, J. V. Rhodes, was very active in church activities and in the Senior Choir. After graduating Carnegie High School in l957, she attended beauty college in Oklahoma City and shortly after opened Bonita's Beauty Shop in Carnegie, OK. Bonita married and had a daughter Rhonda Patterson who passed away, January 2, 2011. Bonita later divorced and married the love of her life J. V. Rhodes. Bonita and J.V. were active in many things and church. Bonita loved taking care of her home, yard, and flowers and loved shopping. We know the sales ladies at Dillard's and Bealls will miss her greatly. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved the Lord with all her heart and looked forward to being reunited with J. V. and loved ones in heaven.

Three grandchildren: Cole Samples, Enid, OK, Karen Harvey, Tulsa, OK, Kevin Dyer, Disney, OK
Three great-grandchildren: Haillee Samples, Justin Harvey, Soren Samples
