Bobby J Prentiss

March 28, 1950 — March 13, 2020

Bobby "Red" Prentiss passed from this life on Friday, March 13, 2020, after a lengthy illness. He was born on March 28, 1950 in Mountain View, OK. He was raised in the Zodletone Community southwest of Carnegie, OK, with his brother Melvin "Scrapper" Prentiss and his grandparents Stewart and Inez Guoladdle Prentiss. He attended school in Mountain View, OK graduating with the Class of 1969. Following graduation, Red went on to various stages in life, from marrying and having a daughter to then attending school. He lived in Oklahoma and New Mexico for a period of time but always returned to the Carnegie area. While in Carnegie, he met Frieda High. Together they made a home on the Westside until her death in 2010. Red worked in various jobs including the canna farm and the town of Carnegie, and always made friends wherever he worked. Due to health reasons, he retired to Gotebo to tend to his chickens and rabbits. The past few years of his life were spent in Carnegie, where he and his buddies Doc, Ralph, and Adolfo spent time at the senior center or at Ralph's car lot, solving the world's problems or just drinking coffee. Following a series of strokes, he finished his life at the Carnegie Nursing Home, where he had many sweethearts (nurses) taking care of him. He knew and loved all his caregivers and to them he was special.
