Birdie Lynn Wetselline, 55, went to her heavenly home on December 24, 2023 in OKC, OK. An all night wake service will be held Thursday December 28, 2023 at Christ Our Savior Church Anadarko, OK. The funeral will be Friday December 29, 2023 at Christ Our Savior Church, Anadarko, OK. She will be laid to rest at the Redbone-Tselee Family Cemetery in Fort Cobb.
She was born March 7, 1968 in Lawton, OK to Terry Lee and Helen Sue (Buck) Wetselline. She attended Anadarko Public Schools and graduated in 1986. When she was younger she lived on Georgia Street in Anadarko. When she was older, Superintendent Ross Nixon told her and Jeannie they were the reason he got softball for Anadarko, because he was tired of them hitting his garage when they would play when they were younger. She was Anadarko High Schools first pitcher for the Softball team. She played one year of college softball for the Bacone Warriors. She played a lot of independent softball with her sisters. She enjoyed doing bead work in her spare time before she got sick. She was a member of the Southside handgame team. She loved going to the casino and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and was a member of the First Caddo Indian Baptist church in Fort Cobb, OK. She worked as a cook for the Broxton-Fort Cobb-Broxton Public School, Fort Cobb, OK.
She met Curtis Akoneto and they were married March 17, 2017 at the Comanche county court house in Lawton, OK.
She was preceded in death by her: son: Apache John Wetselline; parents, Terry and Helen Wetselline; brothers: Apache Jim "A.J.", Wallace, Linn, P.A., Marv, and Spud. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and family members.

Birdie is survived by her:

Children: Ousk'v Beaver
Grandchildren: Azariyah Spottedwolf
Siblings: Stephanie Pahcoddy, Apache, OK; Bonita Wetselline, Montana; Lisa Wetselline, Anadarko, OK; Bo Wetselline and wife, Carol, Anadarko, OK; Susie Ahdokobo and husband, Rudy, Mountain View, OK; Marian Ramirez, Anadarko, OK; Keith Wetselline, Montana; John Wetselline, Apache, OK.
Aunts and uncles: Philip "Bodie" Wetselline, Barry "Germ" Wetselline, Hugh "Sam" Redbone; Tommy Kopepasah, George Tiger, Esther Gee, Mary and Martha Givens.
Many nieces and nephews: Kayla Pahcoddy & companion, Shea Longman; Kelia, Kacie, and Kassius Pahcoddy; Hannah, Caleb, Wallace, and Tavia Wetselline; Sarah Saddleblanket; Carol June Wetselline; Tara Tartash-Clark, Soila Navarrete
