Billy Gene Dirickson

Billy Gene (Bill) Dirickson was born September 29th, 1927 to W.L. and Alma Ivy (Bailey) Dirickson on a farm south of Eakly, Oklahoma and departed from this life February 25th, 2017 at the age of 89. Bill attended elementary school at Oak Grove which was located at the entrance of what is now Fort Cobb Lake. He graduated the 8th grade as Valedictorian, then graduated high school at Alfalfa High School. He served his country in the Korean war. Bill had 7 brothers and two sisters, Deward, Argle, Doyle, Kenneth, Jimmy and Van, Aleta and Onela. Bill married Trelene Chadwick in Duke, OK At the age of 38 Bill graduated from Southwestern College. He and Trelene were given teaching positions in Bakersfield, California and taught 5 years and became members of the Baptist Church while living there. Bill and Trelene had 4 children, 3 boys: David, and Chad were born while in California and Kyle and Kellene were born in Oklahoma. They returned to Caddo County to help his parents farm. Bill started teaching at Alden, was there for three years, then taught at the Alfalfa School not only was he a teacher but also superintendent, helping establish the dependent school. Bill became the principal at Cyril Elementary School and was there for 16 years, making a total of 34 years in education. Bill met and married Lois Willis and they were married for 26 years until she passed away in 2012.

Bill was a 32nd degree Mason, Bill was a Shriner, and received his Master's Degree in Education. .

21 Grandchildren: Jeff Dirickson, Seth Dirickson, Brittany Dirickson Keechi, Michelle Chaney, Shayden Arnold, Dalton Dirickson, Cole Claborn, Jacob Lovelady, Micah Lovelady, Jeremy Lovelady, Malia Lovelady, Clay Dirickson, Jessica Lingle, Talynne Dirickson, Deb and Rick Morris, Scott Smith & Catherine Morris, Monte Howell, & Anice, Mike Howell.
