Billie Louise Igo Obituary
Billie Louise Wood Igo, 99, was a lifelong resident of Hobart, Oklahoma and passed away at Methodist Hospital, Vitas Hospice Care in Dallas, Texas, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
Billie was born in a farmhouse outside of Altus, Oklahoma, on November 20, 1924, to William Alexander and Nancy Cain Wood. She attended school in Altus until sixth grade and then Koonkazachey Country School until eighth grade. Billie graduated from Hobart High School.
On March 31, 1945, Billie married the love of her life, Bill Igo, and together they raised two boys, Johnny and Jimmy. Billie worked at Elk View General Hospital in the business office. She was an avid reader, and loved attending the First Baptist Church in Hobart, Oklahoma. Billie was a Godly woman who had a strong faith in her Lord, Jesus Christ, and prayed for her family daily. Billie loved going to Senior Citizen's and visiting her many friends. Her laugh brought a smile to everyone! She was a wonderful cook, and her true passion was spending time with her family and friends.
Billie is preceded in death by her parents William and Nancy Wood; her husband, Bill; five brothers, Clayton, Hollis, Kenneth, Boge, and Marion, and one sister whom she dearly loved, Jewel Barnes. She is survived by two sons, Johnny and his wife, Jeanne, of Dallas and Jimmy, and his wife Pam, of Oklahoma City. Billie has five grandchildren; Ryan Igo and his wife, Megan; Joy Dolezal and her husband, Chad; Jesse Igo and his wife, Cheryl; Rachel Igo and her husband Paco Moran; and Samuel Clark. She is also survived by six great grandchildren - Lucas and Austin Igo; Finn and Cooper Dolezal; and Asher and Jaxson Igo. She loved her family so much.
Services celebrating the life of Billie will be held at Ray and Martha's Funeral Home on Monday, January 29, 2024, at 11:00 am. Viewing will be Sunday, January 28, 2024.
