Betty Jo Biggerstaff

April 26, 1927 — July 19, 2014

Betty Jo Biggerstaff, 87, of Anadarko, was born April 26, 1927, in Anadarko to Caleb and Florence (Gibson) Abshere. She passed from this life July 19, 2014, in Chickasha.
Betty attended Washita and Anadarko Schools graduating in 1944. She worked as a school secretary then went to work for the Caddo County DHS as a social worker. She retired in 1997.
She was an accomplished seamstress creating many fancy dresses for her daughters and granddaughters. She also crocheted and made each of her children an afghan. Later she started quilting. Betty was a great cook. Her specialties were homemade noodles and hot rolls which everyone loved, and no one can duplicate. Reading was a favorite pastime in later years. She doted on her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Carrol Belle Abshere.
Survivors include, three daughters, Donna Huckleberry and Jami Biggerstaff, both of Oklahoma City and Cleta Freie and her husband, Dennis of Anadarko; one son, Lonnie Biggerstaff and wife Lillie of Anadarko; five grandchildren, Brad Freie and wife, Shawn, Lindsay Biggerstaff and Mason Biggerstaff, all of Anadarko, Jenna Mooneyham and her husband, Robert and Josh Huckleberry all of Oklahoma City; three great grandchildren, Kohl Murray, Tucker Freie and Reagan Biggerstaff, all of Anadarko; one sister, Mary Pearl Carmon of Chickasha; one brother, William †Bill†Abshere and his wife, Alice of Raton, New Mexico; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at the Church Of Christ in Anadarko, with son-in-law Dennis Freie and Robert Dyer, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Lane Cemetery under the direction of Steverson Funeral Home. Condolences may be left for the family at www.steversonfuneralhome.com .
