Betty Barnes

Betty Jane Barnes, 81, of Roosevelt, Oklahoma passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born on July 14, 1941, to Jim and Anna Armstrong in Hobart, Oklahoma. Betty grew up and attended school in Roosevelt, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1959. She met and fell in love with James Barnes, they were united in marriage on June 7, 1968, in Hobart, Oklahoma. Together they raised six children: Kenny, Bobby, Phyllis, Anna, James, and Kendra. Betty spent her life at home taking care of her husband and children, crocheting blankets, sewing, and reading her favorite books. She was an avid OSU fan, always cheering on her Cowboys. Betty not only loved watching her children and grandchildren play sports, but a cherished niece and nephew as well. She never missed a game. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Roosevelt. Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
