Benno George Imbrock

Benno George Imbrock, 90, of Anadarko, was born August 21, 1923, in Twin Lakes, Minnesota to Rev. Herman and Emilie (Freytag) Imbrock. He passed from this life on Sunday, November 17, 2013 in Anadarko.
Benno graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1941 and attended Fort Hays State College. He joined the U.S. Army in September, 1943, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and was a combat engineer. Benno received the EAMET Ribbon, two Bronze Stars, American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and a Victory Ribbon and was honorably discharged in August, 1945. He later graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in engineering. Benno then obtained a law degree at the University of Denver. Benno and Bernice Johnston were married May 29, 1970. He worked in Concho, Oklahoma and in March, 1972, in Bismarck, North Dakota, as a right of way director for the Bureau of Reclamation. In July, 1974, Benno came to Anadarko and worked for the Department on Interior as a field solicitor, retiring in 1981. He was an Elder of the church for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice of the home; stepson, Jerry Johnston and his wife, Mary of Apache; sister, Esther of Nebraska; nephews, Bruce Krause and Ralph Krause and his wife, Beth and sister-in-law, Helen of West Virginia; special niece, Linda Shaw of North Carolina; several other nieces and nephews of West Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in his honor to St. Peters Lutheran Church in Apache. The funeral will be held at 2 P.M., Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Apache with Pastor Mark Mozeik officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery.
