Ben Wilber Johnson, Sr, was called home by our Lord and Savior on February 7, 2025 at Glenhaven Nursing home in Chickasha, OK. He was born February 15, 1933, in Fort Cobb, OK, to Melvin Johnson, Sr., and Ozella Little - Johnson. He was child number 6 of 10 children. Ben grew up in Fort Cobb, OK and graduated from Lincoln High School in Anadarko, OK; Class of 1950. He united in marriage to Freda Crain, to which two sons and two daughters were born. As a young man he did farm work in Fort Cobb. His family moved to Los Angeles in 1960 where he worked as an independent truck driver and co-owner of the cobra club. He united in marriage with Elizabeth Reynolds to which a daughter was born. Later in is life he was united with Lula Law. He and his brothers would visit their parents before heading to work and on Saturday's at their home with the rest of the family for a day of love, fun, and good food. He enjoyed fishing, domino's, spades, wrestling, horse races, repairing washers and dryers. He loved talking with his children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and wearing his signature overalls. He was known to all as the "brain".
He relocated back to Fort Cobb after the passing of his parents. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Melvin & Ozella Johnson, Two children; Sandra Johnson & Michael Johnson., Five sisters; Imogene Richardson, Ruby Cato, Norvilee Williams, Edna Faye Blair, and Almittie Samuels, and two brothers; Melvin Johnson, Jr. & Lonnie Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memory three children: Ben Johnson, Jr. & wife Nola, Casper, WY, Cheryl Johnson-Young and husband, Johnnie, Casper, WY, and Lonya Johnson- Sealie & husband, Miton, Glendale, CA, Two Brothers: Edgar Johnson, Fort Cobb, OK & Thomas Johnson of Ontario, CA, 10 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, and friends.
