Barbara Bea Weston

Barbara "Bobbie" B. Phipps Weston died, January 23rd, 2014, in Tulsa, Oklahoma after living a full and adventurous life. She was born July 23rd, 1929 to Joe and Pearl Phipps and was one of seven children. Nothing brought Bobbie joy like spending time with her siblings: Wayne Phipps (Oklahoma City), Wanda Baker (Mustang, OK), Ethel Allen (Fritch, TX), Verlyn Reneau (Edmond, OK), Shirley Holstead, and Joe Phipps.
Bobbie went to school in Sedan, Oklahoma where she fell in love with the sport of basketball. She graduated in 1946 and turned her focus to raising her four children, Jerry Zimmerman (Broken Arrow, Oklahoma), Penny Harper, Beth Hines (Gardner, Kansas), and Keith Zimmerman (Charlotte, NC). Bobbie spent much of her adult life in California, where she graduated from St. Mary's College in 1978 with a BA in Public Management.
Her retirement years were spent doing things she loved. She spent many years as a camp host, in Wyoming and on the California coast. At her home in Magalia, California, she enjoyed the natural beauty of the mountains and was an active member of Magalia Pines Baptist Church. She also enjoyed time with her five grandchildren and, later, several great grandchildren.
It was a joy to Bobbie to spend her final years in Oklahoma. Services will be held Monday, January 27th, 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Mountain View. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Clarehouse in Tulsa, OK.
