Audie Ruth Henderson

Audie Ruth Henderson (Young), 76, of Hobart, Oklahoma, passed away, Sunday, January 27th, 2019. She had recently underwent a short series of hospitalization periods due to complications from a chronic heart condition. Ruth was born August, 7th, 1942, in Marlow, Oklahoma, to Samuel and Daisy Bell (Haston) Young. She grew up in Marlow, Oklahoma, and moved to Cordell, Oklahoma her junior year. She graduated from Cordell High School in 1960. Though she would leave Cordell, she would find her way back later in life and make roots in the community for many years. She married Charles "Chuck" Henderson on February 23rd, 1963, in Washington, D.C. Due to her status as military wife, she was able to travel and live across the country in various places including: New York City, New York, Washington D.C., Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, and Elizabeth City, North Carolina. She returned to live in Cordell for many years before moving to Hobart to retire in 2011. Ruth worked in the healthcare industry for nearly forty years, a majority of this time as a nurse aide for the Cordell Christian Home, a long-term care facility in Cordell, Oklahoma. She was a dedicated and compassionate caregiver that worked tirelessly to ensure those in her charge were treated with dignity and respect.
Survivors include two daughters: Lori Jones and husband Robert of Cabot, Arkansas, Lisa Pederson-Gaddy and husband David of Conway, Arkansas, one son, Jason Henderson and wife Michelle of Perkins, Oklahoma, eight grandchildren: Brandon Gaddy, Bryson Jones, Holden Jones, Jackson Jones, Trevor Gaddy, Logan Jones, Hannah Jones and Alina Henderson, two sisters: Annelle Henderson of Hobart, Oklahoma, Jane Ritter, and husband Arbuary, of Marlow, Oklahoma, two brothers: Mike Cochran and wife Belva of Cordell, Oklahoma, Andy Young and wife Shirley of Norman, Oklahoma, and one step-sister Anna Belle Bush of Marlow, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her step-father: Jess Cochran, one sister: Delores Cochran, and a son-in-law: Thomas Pederson.
