Apache Jim Keith "A. J." Wetselline

Apache Jim Keith "A.J." Wetselline, 53 of Anadarko, OK went to his heavenly home December 14th 2023 in Anadarko. An all-night wake service will be Sunday December 17th 2023 at 7:00 pm J.J Methvin Church. The Funeral will be Monday December 18th 2023 at 11:00 am at Grace Church in Anadarko, OK. He will be laid to rest at Redbone Family Cemetery in Fort Cobb.

A.J. was born September 20th,1970 in Lawton, OK to Terry and Helen Wetselline. He grew up in Anadarko, Oklahoma. He also attended and graduated high school there. A.J. enlisted into the US Army on October 4th 1991. He served with honor until August 1st 1993 earning the rank of Private First Class. He then moved to Montana shortly after and lived there until 1995. He then returned to Anadarko, OK. He worked as a Firefighter for the Caddo Nation Wildfire Program and he worked for the Apache Tribe of Oklahoma for several years and also served on the Apache Business Committee. He also worked for the BIA for the past 10 years.

Those who knew him would know that he excelled in sports. Mainly basketball, baseball, and softball. A.J. had the opportunity to play in the MLB at the age of 17. During his years of playing softball, he played for many teams. The main team he played for was the Superchiefs softball team made up of many of his closest friends and family. They played and won many tournaments. He loved to dance with the Apache Blackfeet Society.

AJ traveled all over the U.S whether it was regarding sporting events, with the Army helping out with the hurricane in Puerto Rico or with the Caddo Wild Fire Program. He also attended Grace Church, there he would give his life to the Lord.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, Terry and Helen Wetselline; brothers: Wallace, Linn, P.A., Marv, and Spud. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and family members.

He is survived by his: children, Hannah Wetselline, Lawton, OK; Caleb Wetselline, Apache, OK; Wallace Wetselline, Anadarko, OK; Tavia Wetselline, Anadarko, OK; grandchildren: Saibn Satoe and Azariyah Spottedwolf. His siblings: Birdie Wetselline, Fort Cobb, OK; Stephanie Pahcoddy, Apache, OK; Bonita Wetselline, Montana; Lisa Wetselline, Anadarko, OK; Bo Wetselline and wife, Carol, Anadarko, OK; Susie Ahdokobo and husband, Rudy, Mountain View, OK; Marian Ramirez, Anadarko, OK; Keith Wetselline, Montana; John Wetselline, Apache, OK. Aunts and uncles: Philip "Bodie" Wetselline, Barry "Germ" Wetselline, Hugh "Sam" Redbone. And special sisters: Leslie Tselee, Andrea Tselee, Kris Tselee, Ruth Bert.
