Anthony George Haywood, 59, of Anadarko, OK was granted his angel wings on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 in Anadarko, Oklahoma surrounded by his family. He was born January 21, 1965 in Clinton, OK to George (Coney) and Dorothy (Lyons) Haywood. Anthony attended and graduated from Anadarko High School in 1983. He played football and basketball for the Anadarko Warriors. His work history included Hollytex Carpet Mills and Midwest Towers.
Anthony met the love of his life, Teresa Mahseet, on March 17, 1985. They got married on January 27, 2012.
Anthony's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile brought so much joy to his family and friends. Like Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:7, I fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Anthony fought the cancer that struck his body, and he kept the faith.
Anthony was an avid Dallas Cowboy and OU fan. On game day he would fly his Cowboy flags. He loved playing dice and dominoes, he and his Aunt Ruthie thought they were the "domino pros".
Anthony was preceded in death by his: father; Granddaughter, Faith Jean Mahseet; paternal grandparents, George and Etta (Shelton) Haywood; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Elsie (Palmer) Lyons; favorite uncle, Rev. Jay Lyons; aunts Wanda Lyons, Ruth Tucker, Madelyn Lyons, Joanne Perry and Francene Walker
