Anna Lou Parks

June 12, 1924 — February 28, 2015

Anna Lou Parks passed away Saturday, February the 28, 2015, at age 90. She was born at Rosebud, Texas on June 12, 1924, to Erie Thomas and Mary Frances (Sommersfield) Mock. Anna Lou was the youngest with two brothers, Haskell and Irvin, two sisters, Dorothy and Earline. The family later moved to the Roosevelt, OK area and the children attended Roosevelt Schools. She learned many skills in Home Economics which were used extensively in later years with a farming household and sewing for the public. Anna Lou graduated in 1942, and the following year married R.E. Parks on August 7, 1943. Anna was a farmer's wife, gardening and canning. To this union two sons were born. Ronald in 1948, and Richard in 1952, The family lived on farms North of Rocky for many years. Ronald passed away in 1963 . Anna Lou started to work with the U.S. Postal Service in 1970, later becoming Postmaster at Rocky and retired in 1989. Anna was a professional seamstress for many years making men's suits. R.E. passed away in 1995, and she moved to Cordell in early 1996, and lived there till 2011, at which time she moved to Stillwater to be closer to family.
She is survived by her son Richard of Stillwater, Oklahoma
Two granddaughters, Tamera Case, husband David, children Rex, Savanna, and Frances of Edmond, Oklahoma
Tara Moore, husband Joe, children Hayden, Parker, and Cambel of Stillwater, Oklahoma
One brother, Haskell Mock of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
along with nephews, nieces, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband (1995), one son Ronald (1968), two sister, Dorothy and Earline, one brother Irvin.

Graveside Services: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2015
Lone Star Cemetery, Rocky, Oklahoma
Burial to follow, under the direction of Ray & Martha's Funeral Home, Hobart, OK
