Amalia Hernandez
May 5, 1933 ~ September 5, 2023
Early Tuesday morning our mom, grandma and sister in Christ was greeted at heaven's gates by her beloved husband.

Amalia was born on May 5th, 1933 to Francisco and Susana Zamarripa in Pharr, Texas. She was the eldest of 9 children, four sisters and four brothers. Her siblings knew that when mom and dad said no, they could find either solace or getting their way with her.

On July 1st in 1958 she married Baldemar in Pharr, Texas. Together they had six sons of whom became Amalia's world. She worked hard alongside her husband where they did migrant work going from Texas to California and then to Hobart, where she fell in love with the community and decided to make it home for their two children Baldemar Jr and Rogelio. They then added Oscar, Rene, Rene and Noe. Amalia took pride in being the best wife and mom. She kept herself busy and when her children started school, she began to clean houses for "her ladies" , who lovingly called her Emily.

To say that Amalia loved "her babies", would be an understatement. She always stopped what she was doing to love on her grandbabies, great grandbabies and even great great grandbabies. Amalia loved Jesus and started every day with coffee and the Word. She was a great example of being God's arms extended. She exuded with compassion and would often put others in need before herself.

Amalia was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son Rene, her husband, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. She leaves behind her five sons to carry on her legacy. Baldemar and wife Esther of Alvin, Texas, Rogelio of Lawton, Oklahoma, Oscar of Hobart, Oklahoma, Rene and his wife, Ada of Hobart Oklahoma, and the baby of the family Noe and his wife, Rachel also of Hobart, Oklahoma. Her sister Soledad and husband, Mac of Senton, Texas and brother Francisco Zamarripa of Rockport, Texas. Her grandbabies and world, Angela Eardman, Valerie Gomez, Baldemar "Josh" Hernandez, Santiago Rene Hernandez, Ricky Ramirez, Christina Sanchez, Amanda, Sarah, Alex, Ricky, Isiah, Marissa and Naomi Hernandez. 21 great grandchildren and two great ~great granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to Great Plains Youth and Family Services so that her legacy of taking care of her babies will be carried on or Hobart Indian Mission Pentecostal Church of God.
