Alice Elaine Block

Alice Elaine Block, 71, passed away September 15, 2019 in Hobart, Oklahoma. She was born on July 12, 1948 in DeKalb, Texas to Brownie A. and Virginia (Wharton) Smith. Elaine married Arvel H. Block on June 4, 1966 in Irving, Texas, and they were happily married until he preceded her in death on August 19, 2002. Elaine worked as a manager of the cafeteria for public schools in Brownwood and San Angelo, Texas. Elaine moved to Hobart, Oklahoma in 1990. She then worked as a cook for the First Baptist Church in Hobart, Oklahoma. Elaine enjoyed cooking shows and her arts & crafts. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. She collected anything and everything Christmas. They once tried to count the ornaments she had collected and stopped counting at 900.

She is survived by her son Chris Block and wife Christina of Hobart, Oklahoma,
daughter Ranell (Dee) Dyer and husband Billy of Haslet, Texas
6 grandchildren: Isabella Block, Katherine Dyer, Johnny Dyer and significant other Meredith Raines, Victoria (Block) Dorman and husband Tony, Charlotte Block, and Alex Dyer,
1 brother Doc Smith of Texas.
and 1 sister Linda Cromer, Ferris, Texas.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents Brownie & Virginia Smith, and husband Arvel Block.

Family will greet friends and relatives from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2019 at Ray & Martha's Funeral Home.
